Mayan ruins in the Yucatan Peninsula delight
MARTINSBURG - A visit to the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico would not be complete without a visit to at least one of the ruins that abound there. This was the land of the ancient Maya. At one time the Maya occupied 125,450 square miles of land which included the present states of Chiapas, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatan and Quintana Roo in Mexico and stretched south to include Guatemala, Belize, Honduras and parts of El Salvador.
