Although there was snow on the runway, these travelers didn't care. Because they were well on their way to trading the white stuff for white sand.
The Grasser's caught the first-ever flight from Lansing to Cancun. The family drove in from Detroit and it's their first time in Lansing's Capitol Region International Airport.
Marie Grasser: "This was the only thing that was available so we took a shot at it and in fact we we're just talking and saying we actually prefer it."
Airport spokesperson Nicole Noll-Williams says this first flight to Cancun is just another way to get more people to fly Lansing.
Williams: "It opens up a whole new opportunity for customers to say lets check Lansing first."
And so far this first flight is a success.
