Quintana Roo recognized as a safe entity

Quintana Roo ranked as one of the tourist entities that offers higher levels of security to its visitors, placed the Security Program Manager of the Organization of American States (OAS), Alejandro Diaz de Leon for the opening of a safety course in tourism that takes place in the Hotel Association.

The informant said that the OAS has established a qualification criteria in regard to the importance of quality in the different tourist destinations, so the course is held in Cancun, which is a leader in international tourism.

At this point, Diaz de Leon acknowledged that Cancun is the place that receives more foreign tourists, not only in Mexico but throughout Latin America, hence the importance of the hotel staff is ready to successfully overcome any eventuality, as hurricanes and other risk situations.

He added that when Cancun was hit by Hurricane Wilma in October 2005, there was a good handling of the situation, so that the destination is recognized as one of the safest, which is very important.
