Story: Start marriage in style with wedding cruise

"A mailbox in Ruston is what I call home," laughed Tonya Givens as she sat in my travel agency. "I am a construction pipeline inspector. Travel is what I do for a living, so, when Mike proposed to me on Labor Day in New York City, the thought of planning and worrying about a wedding overwhelmed me.

"That's why I called Mary Margaret Brenner at your travel agency. Together, we decided that the easiest, quickest and best thing for us to do with our time constraints would be a wedding-moon — combining a destination wedding with a honeymoon.

"My fiancee, Mike Brown, is the superintendent for a construction company, so since his crew would be off for Christmas, we decided the holidays — less than few months away — would be the perfect time.

"I told Mary Margaret I wanted to marry on a beautiful sandy beach in the Caribbean, and she made it happen. On Dec. 26, we sailed aboard the Carnival Conquest from Galveston, heading to Grand Cayman, Jamaica and Cozumel.
