Cancun can be a pretty cheap destination, especially since the Riviera Maya section of the Yucatan Peninsula has become so popular.
If you’re looking for authentic Mexico, Cancun isn’t it. It is a destiny built for tourism. If you’re looking for sun, sand and relaxation — plus some side trips to Mayan ruins — this could be the place for you.
One note: If you’re not into watching high school and college kids barf off balconies, make sure your hotel isn’t one that caters to the younger crowd.
