Second phase of Cancun Submarine Museum begins

The West Coast National Park of Isla Mujeres, Punta Cancun and Punta Nizuc, which receives about 750 thousand tourists a year, will feature more than 400 sculptures that comprise the museum world's largest submarine at sea in Cancun and Isla Mujeres.

With an investment of over $ 350 thousand dollars, this project has been carried out in order to allow the natural reefs, to be kept immaculate. That is why this National Marine Park took up the challenge and turned to the tourists of natural habitats, along coral reefs, without having to lose their visitors or more than $ 36 million dollars which represent annual income.

To this end, collapsed on 14 November last year, in a first phase, three sculptures under the supervision of prominent artist and sculptor Jason de Caires Taylor Underwater whose names correspond to the "Dream Collector", "Female in flames "and" The Flower of Hope ". Are currently undertaken relevant work for the second phase of this great work that aspires to position itself more than 400 sculptures in this national park on the sand surface and at different depths in order to officially become the largest Submarine Museum world. Note that these sculptures will be placed near natural reefs and marine life in order to create an artificial habitat.
