Cancun Joins Earth Hour

Cancun has united with more than 117 countries and thousands of cities and towns around the world that will turn off their non-essential lights for one hour

from 8:30 to 9:30pm – Earth Hour – on March 27th, to demonstrate in a symbolic, but forceful way, that governments, private initiatives and citizens should work together to make a difference in combating climate change. In Cancun, lights will be turned off at the Plaza Forum by the Sea, an icon of the city and the national tourist sector, where a large group of citizens engaged to this cause are expected to gather.
